Yes, I've changed it again.

I was bored this evening. Greg took over the tv because he bought Grand Theft Auto 4 (which I'll admit is actually fun to watch). So, I attempted to make a new banner. Then after the new banner was done, I had to change the colours.

Voila. It looks different!

Faster. FASTER!

We received this bicycle wagon last year as a gift from Greg's coworkers. I finally set it up today and took the boys for a spin. They LOVED it. Well, ok. Finn loved it. Spencer was so-so. Since my bike is still not in working order, I had to use Greg's bike with has the most uncomfortable seat EVER. We didn't go far, but Finn had a taste of speed and was going crazy, yelling "faster mommy, FASTER" and when I wanted to coast for a few seconds so that I could catch my breath, he yelled "no, keep pedalling." So I did. "Ok, that's better. Good girl."

Needless to say I am dreadfully out of shape. Greg expressed interest in coming out each evening for a bike ride, so that means I either have to get my bike fixed (which I'd prefer) or I have to get a new one. However I wouldn't mind spending some $$ if it means that Greg will get off his a$$ and away from his computer for a little while each day!
And yes, Spencer's knees really are that dirty. Crawling in the dirt will do that to knees.

Best. Meatloaf. Ever.

This is a wonderful recipe. I found it on allrecipes.com. The only change I made was that instead of using bread, I used 1 cup of breadcrumbs.

INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup ketchup
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup lemon juice, divided
1 teaspoon mustard powder
2 pounds ground beef
3 slices bread, broken up into small pieces (or 1 cup breadcrumbs)
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 egg, beaten
1 teaspoon beef bouillon granules

DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a small bowl, combine the ketchup, brown sugar, 1 tablespoon lemon juice and mustard powder.
In a separate large bowl, combine the ground beef, bread, onion, egg, bouillon, remaining lemon juice and 1/3 of the ketchup mixture from the small bowl. Mix this well and place in a 5x9 inch loaf pan.
Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 1 hour, drain any excess fat, coat with remaining ketchup mixture and bake for 10 more minutes.

It was DELICIOUS, and both Finn and Spencer had seconds. Which is very unusual (especially from Spencer because he has been super picky lately).

Nothing much

Today Greg and I are going shopping for a used minivan. Much to Greg's dismay, we will soon be the proud owners of a true family vehicle!

If we weren't expecting to get an au pair, then we wouldn't need a van, however as soon as we turn Spencer around to front-facing, even the slimmest of au pairs would not be able to wedge herself in between the two carseats in the Volvo.

It was such a beautiful day out yesterday. I popped Spencer in the backpack carrier and raked the front lawn. It looks much better, although the grass is still quite brown. There were a few flowers out and it really reinforced the fact that SPRING is finally here! Finn played with his trucks outside while I raked, and he also helped me out a bit. Spencer then went down for a nap, and I let Finn watch Thomas the Tank Engine. Either Finn found this very boring, or he was just pooped from being outside. This is how I found him about 20 minutes later (and he only ever falls asleep in his bed or in the car).

And here is Sumsy, from Bob the Builder. He looked so cute sitting on the floor yesterday morning. Yes, I know it's just a toy, but it's like he was just waiting for Finn to play with him!

Spencer visits the ER

Saturday evening Spencer started feeling really warm. On Sunday morning he woke up red and irritable and cranky and really warm. He responded well to Advil and Tylenol, but the fever just kept returning. On Sunday and Monday his fever was between 104 and 106. Then on Monday night I heard him whimpering and shaking and he just didn't like "right." I gave him some Advil and then took him to the hospital where we waited. And waited. And waited.

We were finally seen by a doctor, and wouldn't you know it, the Advil had kicked in and he was good as new! There was no sign of ear infection, or chest infection. He's now on the mend. Still a little crabby, but feeling better.

Not the best pics because they were taken with my cell phone. I kept it turned off most of time, but I couldn't help but break the rules a few times because he just looked so cute!

He was feeling better at this point. He kept putting his money in his teeth, smiling and shaking it around. This cracked him up. I felt a little silly having a laughing, smiley boy in the ER!
