What the heck is wrong with this country?
I don't get it. As much as I love being a Canadian and living in Canada, we are a nation of push-overs.
It just doesn't make sense to me that a convicted terrorist who was ordered to be deported in 1988 is still living here, but the college-graduate whom we'd like to hire as a nanny for our two boys may be denied a work permit due to the fact that she hasn't worked full-time for 1 year as a caregiver. I don't get it.

Vote for Spencer (only if you want to)
I've entered Spencer in to a local photo contest. He's not doing very well in the vote department. If you want to go and help him out, please feel free. However, it's one of those annoying sites that requires you to register in order to vote. You can opt out of receiving emails from them, but if you don't want to sign-up, then I completely understand!
Here's the picture I've entered, so scroll down and down and down until you find him! Click here if you're game!

Canada turns 141
Yesterday was Canada's 141st birthday. The boys celebrated, along with thousands of others at a local park. The weather was perfect, and the boys had fun.
I finally managed to do something that I'd wanted to do for a long time. I've never taken pictures of fireworks before, so last night I loaded my camera and tripod into the car, and headed out. It took me a long time to find a parking spot, and my trek to the site was also very time-consuming. Thankfully I found a great spot to set up.
Here are some of the results.
